Tech Thoughts

I have decided to change the format of the blog a bit, I will pick my favourite tech related articles/blogs of the past few days, and post them and my thoughts about them.

Innocent till proven guilty.

This article is about the most interesting issue from the past week, New Zealand will implement a law (next month) where users on the Internet, will be disconnected if they are even just accused of file sharing. This allows the accused to no appeal or recourse, other countries are planning a gradual approach, a 3 strike type approach.

I actuallly dicussed this with a friend of mine and surprisely we had different opinions, one of us pointed out that similiar actionaction should be allowed for other crimes that involve Internet, for example someone contacting underage people for sexual reasons or someone distrubting a virus, should in my opinion be disconnected immediately. But as my friend pointed out, a crime is being committed with filesharing as well and a crime is still a crime, no matter how blameless I think it my be.
